Audits of employee benefit plans (most commonly 401K plans) require expertise and a specific set of skills.  Auditors of these plans must not only have knowledge of the current auditing and accounting standards, but they must be familiar with ERISA, IRS and DOL laws and regulations and the unique requirements of employee benefit plans.
